Boss offers guitarists 2 types of foots witches for different applications. The FS5U momentary type foot switch lets you engage a function while you hold down the switch. Designed to meet any need for a foot switch that engages the effect only for the time your foot is on it, like sustain or spot delay. Compact, lightweight, and tough. Does not include connecting cable.

These work better than any other foot switch i've tried, for the purposes i want. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the old one only lasted for about two and a half years, it's a brilliant product but that seems rather short to me. Unless that's about the normal life expectancy, in which case substitute 4 with 5!
